Idlibإِدْلِب
Skip Idlib as a standalone destination: the city is recovering from war and earthquakes. Use it as a brief stop between Aleppo and the Dead Cities if the route is open.
Idlib is a small agricultural centre in northwestern Syria, 59 km from Aleppo. Before the civil war it held the Ebla tablets in its museum; the museum was damaged and the city saw heavy fighting. As of 2026 the situation is fragile: check current security before any visit.
