Shivanasamudram is a small town in Karnataka famous for two waterfalls on the Cauvery River. The falls are reachable by road from Bangalore in about 3 h; there are a few homestays but no large hotels. One day covers the main sights; an extra night lets you stay at a local farm or guesthouse.
