Give Gig Harbor one full day and one night: waterfront walk, harbor museum, a kayak or boat tour, seafood dinner. Two nights if you add Kopachuck or the Narrows bridge.
Gig Harbor is a small waterfront town on the Kitsap Peninsula, about 15 minutes across the Tacoma Narrows Bridge from Tacoma and roughly an hour from Seattle-Tacoma airport by shuttle. It is a harbor first: a compact downtown of shops and seafood restaurants on pilings, a 15-foot lighthouse, a maritime museum, and cold-water kayaking and diving nearby. Most travellers use it as a half-day stop on the way to the Olympic Peninsula, or as a quiet one-night base with a car.

A car is the practical choice: downtown parking is tight but once parked, the waterfront is walkable. Pierce Transit route 100 links the Kimball Drive Park & Ride, downtown and Purdy; a summer trolley (route 101) follows the same line. The paved Cushman Trail is good for bikes and walking. Boaters can moor at Jerisich Dock (free, 48-hour maximum) or the nearby marinas.
