PEI is small — 224 km tip to tip — but public transport barely leaves Charlottetown, so a car decides your trip. Three nights covers red-sand beaches, the Anne of Green Gables sites at Cavendish, one lobster supper and Charlottetown's old town. Add nights only if you want golf, cycling the Confederation Trail or the eastern points.
