Paro is a valley town in western Bhutan and home to the country's only international airport. Most visitors arrive here before moving to Thimphu. The main sights are Paro Dzong, the National Museum and the trail to Taktsang (Tiger's Nest) monastery. Independent travellers pay a Sustainable Development Fee, and rules apply to visas.
