This is a wild Atlantic beach, long and mostly empty. The surf is rough and the current can pull swimmers offshore.
There are no facilities: no shade huts, shops, toilets or lifeguards found. Bring water and sun cover.
Sea turtles nest on Statia beaches in the warm months, roughly April to November (check). Stay away from nests and do not use lights at night.
Park on the beach road and walk down. Do not drive on soft sand.
Go in the morning when the light is soft and the wind is lower.
