Nusa Dua is a purpose-built resort enclave on the Bukit Peninsula in South Bali, about 20–30 minutes from the airport. Three manned gates screen everyone entering, beaches are white sand and safe for swimming, and almost all beds are four- and five-star resorts. It suits families, couples and anyone who wants a low-friction beach base; it is a poor fit for travellers chasing cheap eats, bars or Balinese village life. Two or three nights is enough unless you are here for a conference or golf.

Getting around
There is no useful public transport inside the enclave. Walk the 7 km beachfront path between the Ayodya and the Grand Mirage, use hotel shuttles, or take taxis and ride-hailing apps (Gojek, Grab) for anything off the beach. Distances between the enclave, Tanjung Benoa and the bypass are short but not walkable in the heat.

Watch out
Safety
- Everyone entering the enclave passes a bag search at one of three gates; expect queues at peak times.
- Rip currents and reef cuts: swim between the flags and check with your hotel before Geger or the resort beaches.
- Tsunami risk on this coast: if the sea suddenly pulls back and exposes the reef, move inland or to the 4th floor or higher immediately.
- Water-sports touts on Tanjung Benoa beach quote similar prices; agree the total, duration and insurance before you pay.
- Outside the gates, pavements are patchy and scooters use them; walk facing traffic.
