The North Central Cascades are the dry east slope of the Cascade range: fruit valleys, alpine lakes and small resort towns 2–4 hours by car from Seattle. There is no practical public transport between towns, so pick one base — Leavenworth or Wenatchee for the south, Winthrop for the north — and treat the rest as drives. Two nights covers one valley; four nights covers both.
