Moorcroft is a town of about 1,000 people on Interstate 90 in northeast Wyoming, at 1,309 m. It exists for travellers as a cheap bed and a fuel stop between Gillette and the Black Hills, and as the closest small-town base for Devils Tower National Monument, 40 km north. There is one small museum, a handful of motels and cafés, and no reason to stay more than one night unless you are using Keyhole State Park.
