Luanchuan is a mountain county in west Henan under Luoyang, sitting at 750 m — the highest county seat in the province — inside the Funiu Mountain range. It is known for Laojun Mountain's Taoist temples, the Jiguan Cave karst system and summer cool. The critical catch: the county is reported to lie in a restricted military zone, so foreigners may be barred without special permission. Verify your access before booking anything.
