The Limestone Coast is a 400 km strip of South Australia between the Victorian border and the Coorong: volcanic crater lakes at Mount Gambier, the Naracoorte Caves fossil beds, Coonawarra cabernet, and low-key coastal towns at Robe, Beachport and Kingston SE. It is a driving region. Mount Gambier is the only town with an airport, a hospital and a full supermarket; sleep there or at Robe and treat the rest as day loops. Three nights is the minimum that is not rushed; four lets you add a Coonawarra cellar-door afternoon and a beach day.
