La Verne is a small San Gabriel Valley city about 50 km east of downtown Los Angeles, on the CA-210 corridor between Pasadena and Claremont. It has a compact Old Town strip, a university campus and a Metrolink station on the San Bernardino Line. Two to three hours covers it; most travellers sleep in Pasadena or Claremont instead.
