Kindersley is a service town of about 4,600 people on Highway 7, built on farming and Bakken shale oil. There is no bus and no passenger train, so you arrive by car or not at all. Sights are thin: a small plains museum open May to September, a nine-hole golf course, a 4.2 km paved trail around Motherwell Reservoir, and two town festivals. Treat it as a clean, well-equipped overnight stop on the Saskatoon–Calgary drive, or skip it if you are not on that road.

- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- Canada ↗Visa-exempt travellers flying to or through Canada usually need an eTA; check your passport on the official Government of Canada site (canada.ca) and apply only there.
- Canada ↗A Parks Canada pass is needed to stop in national parks such as Banff and Jasper; some spots (for example Moraine Lake) are reached only by shuttle or tour, so book ahead.
- Canada ↗Keep well away from bears, elk and moose; carry bear spray on Rockies trails and follow trail closures.

Getting around
Everything is within a 20-minute walk of the centre, but the town is spread along the highway and winter wind is real: drive or take a taxi. Two local taxi firms operate (Sinclair Taxi, Ten Inch Taxi). No public transit. Highway 7 runs east to Rosetown and Saskatoon and west toward Oyen and Calgary; Highway 21 runs north to Kerrobert and Maidstone and south to Leader and Maple Creek.
