Getting there
Tan Son Nhat International Airport is the main arrival point for the city. From the airport, a Grab bike or car is usually the cheapest fixed-price option; agree the fare or use the app before you leave the terminal. Public buses run from the airport to central districts and cost a fraction of a taxi, but they are slower and stop running in the evening.
Within the city, Grab bikes are the cheapest way to cover 3–5 km. Walking works well in District 1 and the riverfront, where most budget sights, markets and stalls cluster. For longer hops, the bus network is cheap but slow; Grab cars make sense when you are splitting the fare.
