Overview
Hanoi's sights are close together, but the city is loud, hot and full of motorbikes. The trips that go wrong are the ones that fight all three at once: noon walks in July, big suitcases on broken Old Quarter pavements, and the mausoleum on the one morning it is closed. Four walking clusters cover a first visit; Ninh Bình and Hạ Long are trips away from one kept bed.
