Weather by season
The whole archipelago shares one climate: cool, dry and very windy. Summer days run 12–18 °C with long daylight; winter sits near freezing with short days. Rain is light but frequent, and sun and wind can change within minutes, so layers and a windproof shell matter more than a heavy coat.
Wind is the constant. It shapes flight schedules as much as it shapes your day: FIGAS flights between islands can be delayed or moved, so build slack into the end of a trip and keep the last night in Stanley before the Saturday flight.
Daylight swings hard with latitude. December and January give long evenings; June and July are dark by mid-afternoon, which is one reason most outer lodges shut from May.
