Fairmont Hot Springs is a small Columbia Valley community of about 475 people on Highway 93/95, 26 km south of Invermere and 108 km north of Cranbrook. It exists for three things: the mineral pools, three golf courses and a small family ski hill. One night covers the pools and a round of golf; two nights add the hoodoos and a slow valley day. You need a car — the valley bus runs weekdays only.

Safety
- No car means no trip: the valley bus runs Monday–Friday only and does not cover the golf courses or hoodoos.
- The pools are inside the resort: day entry is paid, and hours or closures can change — check before you drive out.
- Highway 93/95 is a two-lane mountain road with wildlife (deer, elk) at dawn and dusk.
- Cell coverage is patchy on the highway south toward Cranbrook.
