Central Armenia is the flat Ararat Valley plus the mountain edge above it, with Yerevan in the middle. Almost every headline sight — Garni, Geghard, Echmiadzin, Zvartnots, Khor Virap — is a half-day or full-day loop from the capital, so you sleep in one place and move by car or taxi. Only Tsaghkadzor (ski) and the Aragats slopes reward a night of their own.

Chaining Garni, Geghard, Echmiadzin and Khor Virap in one day is four sites and three hours in a car — pick two.
