Bujumbura by district
Bujumbura sits on a narrow plain between Lake Tanganyika and the rising hills to the east. The commune of Mukaza holds the centre-ville, the lakefront and Rohero; Kiriri rises above Rohero as the diplomatic and villa hill. A first visit to Bujumbura fits inside these few kilometres; the beach road at Saga runs north along the shore, and everything else is a longer car trip.
