Bishkek is a flat, green, walkable centre: do the squares and Panfilov Park on foot, Osh Bazaar as a morning car ride, keep the mountains for a separate day — and book the first bed before you fly, because most Manas arrivals land at night, 25 km from the centre.
The honest verdict
Bishkek's centre is a grid of tree-lined avenues, and four clusters cover a first visit. The trips that go wrong land at 03:00 with no driver and no hotel confirmation, or try to fit Ala Archa, Burana and Issyk-Kul into a city break. Keep one bed, use short car rides between clusters, and treat the mountains as day trips that need their own weather margin.

Three mistakes to avoid
- Unmetered taxis at Manas airport quoting a high fixed fare: use a ride-hailing app or agree the fare before getting in.(Scams)
