Start with the activity, not the month. If you want to ski, the window is early December to mid-April, with February usually holding the deepest base and March offering longer, sunnier days. If you want to hike, aim for mid-June to September: high trails above 2,000 m are normally clear of snow from late June, and the Madriu valley is at its best through summer and into October.
