- North America ↗Crossing between the US, Canada and Mexico by land needs your passport even on a day trip; rental cars need the company's written permission to cross, and most US and Canadian rental insurance stops at the Mexican border.
- North America ↗Cannabis is legal in Canada and in many US states, but taking any amount across the US, Canadian or Mexican border is a federal crime — including edibles and vapes.
- North America ↗The busiest US and Canadian national parks need timed-entry, campsite or lodge reservations in summer; release dates are months ahead.
- United States ↗Check whether you need an ESTA (Visa Waiver Program) or a visa on the official CBP and State Department sites; apply only through esta.cbp.dhs.gov, not third-party sites, and allow time before you book.
- United States ↗Several popular national parks use timed-entry or vehicle reservations in peak season; check each park's page on nps.gov and book on recreation.gov before fixing your dates.
- United States ↗Medical care is very expensive for visitors; buy travel insurance with high medical cover before you fly.
- United States ↗Tipping is expected: about 15–20% at sit-down restaurants and bars, and a tip for taxis, hotel staff and guides.
Anaheim is a theme-park and stadium town, not a sightseeing city. Almost everything a visitor does sits in two clusters about 3 km apart: the Disneyland Resort on Harbor Blvd and the stadium district (Angel Stadium, Honda Center, ARTIC station) on Katella Ave. Plan around those two, and treat the rest of the city as a place to sleep and eat.

Getting around
A car is fastest for anything outside the resort area, but parking fees at hotels and the parks add up. ART (Anaheim Resort Transportation) shuttles link the resort, convention centre, stadium district and nearby hotels; OCTA buses cover the wider city. Metrolink and Amtrak stop at ARTIC, about 2 km east of Disneyland. Walking works inside each cluster, not between them.

Day-trips

goDoor to door: 10–25 min

One or two full days; dated tickets and a park reservation on busy dates.
Door to door: 1.5–2.5 h
Amtrak Pacific Surfliner or Metrolink from ARTIC, or I-5 by car
A full day; the train drops you near Union Station, not the beaches.

Shopping, Spectrum Center and easy parking.
Santa Ana
goDoor to door: 20–30 min

Costa Mesa
goDoor to door: 20–30 min
I-5 south, or OCTA line 43 down Harbor Blvd
South Coast Plaza and the anti-mall; pair it with a Newport Beach afternoon.
Fullerton
goDoor to door: 20–30 min
Metrolink to Fullerton, or a 15-min drive north
The closest real nightlife strip to Anaheim; good for dinner and a bar.
Buena Park
cautionDoor to door: 15–25 min
I-5 north, or ART/OCTA bus
Knott's Berry Farm and dinner shows; only worth it if the parks are not enough.
Mission Viejo
skipDoor to door: 30–45 min

Suburban and car-dependent; nothing here beats a day in LA or the parks.

Around Angel Stadium, Honda Center and ARTIC; best for games and train arrivals, thin on food at night.
Downtown Anaheim / Packing District
Local restaurants and bars near Anaheim Blvd; a 10–15 min drive from the parks.

Coming as the guide grows
- Airport-to-bed contracts for SNA, LAX, LGB and ONT: last shuttle times, taxi and rideshare fallbacks, overnight rung.
- Four walking clusters with rescue anchors: Harbor Blvd, Katella and the convention centre, the stadium district and ARTIC, downtown and the Packing District.
- Place pages with verified cutoffs (Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, Angel Stadium, Honda Center, Packing District) and eat pages with last orders.
- Event-day fixtures for Angels and Ducks games so gate and parking advice can go green.
