Three bases beat six. Tirana gives you the capital in two nights: Skanderbeg Square, the Blloku bars, Bunk'Art and the Dajti cable car. Then move south or inland rather than trying to cover the whole country.

Cities and regions in detail
Tirana is the transport hub and the easiest place to start; almost every bus and furgon route begins or ends here. Berat and Gjirokastër are the two UNESCO Ottoman towns, and both reward a night inside the old quarters rather than a day trip. The southern coast splits into Sarandë and Ksamil in the south, Himarë in the middle and Vlorë in the north, with Llogara pass linking them.
The north is a different trip: Shkodër as the gateway, then Koman Lake and the Theth–Valbona pass, which is a summer-only route. Korçë and Pogradec cover the east, and Durrës is the closest beach to Tirana for a short stop.

Seven days covers Tirana, Berat, Gjirokastër and Sarandë, exiting by ferry to Corfu or back to Tirana. Ten days adds Himarë and Vlorë on a southern loop. Fourteen days is the version that fits the Alps and the Riviera in one trip, but only between June and September.
