Agder is Norway's south coast: white wood towns, a fragmented skerry archipelago and the mildest, sunniest weather in the country. The coast is a chain of small towns 20–60 minutes apart on the E18, best done by car or regional bus with one base. The interior — Setesdal valley up to Hovden — is a different trip: hiking, rafting, skiing and preserved folk culture, reached on road 9 from Kristiansand. Two or three nights covers the coast; add two more if you go inland.
