The trail sits in the forests of Heverleebos and Meerdaalwoud, immediately south of Leuven and about 25 km east of Brussels. It runs roughly north–south between the Arboretum at Heverlee and the villages of Vaalbeek and Oud-Heverlee.

Preparation
Wear shoes with grip; forest paths are uneven and can be slippery after rain. Carry water and food — there is a SPAR near the Naamsesteenweg bus stop at the start, but little inside the forest.
