York Region is nine towns north of Toronto, stitched together by GO trains, Viva buses and one subway line. It is not a sightseeing region in the classic sense: the draws are a Canadian art gallery, a theme park, heritage main streets and large Asian malls. Sleep in Markham or Vaughan if you want car-free access from Toronto; sleep in Newmarket or Aurora if you are driving further north.
