The Wheatbelt is Western Australia's farm belt: a grid of small towns, salt lakes and granite outcrops between Perth and the goldfields. Sights sit 100–300 km apart, so pick one or two bases and drive day loops rather than moving nightly. York and Northam are the easy first stop from Perth; Merredin is the eastern hub; the coast strip (Lancelin, Cervantes, Jurien Bay) is a separate run on Indian Ocean Drive.
