Go for one night if you want to float in Little Manitou Lake and dance at Danceland; skip if you need city food, nightlife or transit — this is a car-only prairie stop.
Watrous is a town of about 1,900 on Highway 2; Manitou Beach is a resort village 5 km north on Highway 365, on the south shore of Little Manitou Lake. The lake is highly saline, so swimmers float easily. The draw is the water, Danceland's horsehair-sprung floor, the regional park and a drive-in. It is a one-night stop between Saskatoon and Regina, not a destination week.
