The Wasatch Range is the mountain wall and the valleys either side of it: the Wasatch Front (Salt Lake City, Provo, Ogden, Logan) and the Wasatch Back (Park City and the Summit County valleys). Most travellers sleep in Salt Lake City for the airport, food and cheaper rooms, or in Park City for ski-in access and a walkable main street. Everything else — Alta, Snowbird, Provo, Ogden — is a day trip by car. Public transport is good in the Salt Lake Valley and sparse further south, so a car decides what you can actually do.
