Museum prices in Warsaw sit in a narrow band, roughly 25–50 PLN for a full-price ticket, with one free day a week at many state museums. Confirm the current day and hour on the museum's own site before you go; free days are usually the busiest.
Public transport is the cheapest way to cover the city. ZTM sells time-based tickets that cover buses, trams and the metro; validate on first use. A 24-hour ticket is the usual choice for a weekend visitor, and a 72-hour ticket pays off if you arrive Friday and leave Sunday night.

Getting there
Warsaw has two airports. Chopin Airport (WAW) is 8–10 km from the centre, with trains and buses into Śródmieście in about 25–30 minutes. Modlin (WMI) is far north, roughly 35–40 km out, and relies on shuttle buses timed to flights; allow 50–70 minutes to the centre.
From Kraków, the fast train takes about 2h20–2h40 and is the standard link on a Poland trip. From Gdańsk it is around 3 hours. Book seats in advance for Friday and Sunday, when Polish weekend travel peaks.
Once in the city you rarely need a car. Parking in Śródmieście is restricted and expensive, so leave the car at home or at the hotel.
