About these names

The country has 11 municipalities; Vaduz, Schaan, Triesen, Triesenberg, Balzers and Planken form the Oberland. Schaan, 4 km north, has the main rail station (Schaan-Vaduz) and larger hotels; Triesenberg and Malbun are mountain settlements reached by bus.

Vaduz is a strip about 2 km long along the Rhine plain. The Städtle runs north to south through the middle; the castle path climbs the hill to the east, and the Rheinpark and the Rhine dam lie to the west. The bus station is on the Städtle (Vaduz Post) and everything a first visit needs is within a 15-minute walk.
