Torrent is Valencia province's second city by population, about 81,000 people, 9 km southwest of Valencia and inside the metro's Zone B. Its old centre keeps a Moorish street plan, an 11th-century castle tower and a regional museum, but the town works mainly as a cheaper, quieter bed for Valencia. Most travellers see it in half a day, or sleep here and commute in on metro lines 1 and 5.

Getting around
The old centre is walkable in 15 minutes end to end. TorrentBus runs four local routes (single ride €1.25, Mon–Sat, no transfers). Metro lines 1 and 5 link both Torrent stations to Valencia in about 20–25 minutes; MetroBus line 170 runs to Valencia roughly every 20 minutes, about 30 minutes, €1.50. Taxis wait at Avinguda al Vedat and at Torrent Avinguda station.
