Points or cash?

Type what the booking costs in cash, what the award costs in points, and the taxes and fees that stay in cash. You get the cents per point and, once you say what a point is worth to you, which way the deal goes.

Was this useful?

The booking

Airlines keep taxes and airport fees in cash even when you pay the fare with points, and a hotel keeps its taxes too. Leave the box empty if there are none.

The comparison

Two cash prices: what the booking normally costs, and what this exact award would cost if you paid cash for it. The second one is what the points are weighed against.

Voykit does not know what a point is worth for any programme, and it will not guess: put your own number in, or use the break-even below.

Earning the pointsoptional card or programme fee

A card fee or a programme fee you pay to get the points. It comes off the value of the award.

Points or cash

Still needed before this can decide: the number of points the award costs; the cash price of the booking; the cash price of the same award booking.

Every figure comes from the numbers you typed. Programmes change what a point is worth and change their award prices, so check the award again before you book — and remember that redeeming points often locks you out of earning more on the same booking.
