There is no citywide closing time: izakaya run to about 23:00–24:00, many bars and clubs until the first train around 05:00. The real deadline is the last train, roughly 00:00–00:30 depending on the line, after which a taxi across the city costs ¥5,000–10,000 with the 20% night surcharge (2026 estimate).
