Tirana is a walkable capital: do Skanderbeg Square, the museum and the bazaar before noon, rest in the heat, and spend the evening in Blloku or by the lake.
Tirana's centre is small and flat, and everything on a first visit is within a 30-minute walk of Skanderbeg Square. What trips people up is the weather and the roads: July and August are hot, winter is wet, and traffic makes any car ride longer than the map suggests. Four clusters cover a first visit; Krujë, Durrës and Berat are trips away from one kept bed.
