Terrebonne is a suburb north of Montréal on the Rivière des Mille-Îles, about 25 minutes by car up Autoroute 25. Its draw is Vieux-Terrebonne and the Île-des-Moulins historic site, a compact riverside cluster of 19th-century mills and the old seigneurial complex. Most travellers see it in half a day from Montréal; one night is enough if you want dinner in the old town without the drive back.

Get around
The old town is walkable in 15–20 minutes end to end. Exo runs the Terrebonne station on the Mascouche line (line 15), which links Ahuntsic in Montréal with Mascouche; for downtown Montréal, change at Ahuntsic to metro Line 2. Exo buses serve Terminus Terrebonne. From Montréal without a car: Metro to Montmorency then Exo bus 19, or Metro to Radisson then Exo bus 30. A car is easier for the spread-out sectors of Lachenaie and La Plaine.
