Tahiti is the gateway and Moorea is the first lagoon. The town of Papeete, the market and the ferry quay are on Tahiti; the beaches and quiet stays are on Moorea, 30–45 minutes away by ferry. Long-haul flights often land at night and leave late at night, so the two Tahiti nights are usually the first and the last.
