Southeastern Zimbabwe is Masvingo province plus the southern part of Midlands province: the medieval stone city of Great Zimbabwe, the lowveld wilderness of Gonarezhou, and the industrial-mining belt around Kwekwe and Gweru to the north. It is not on the Victoria Falls loop, so most travellers reach it by road or a domestic hop from Harare or Bulawayo. Give it 3–4 nights: one or two in Masvingo for the ruins, two or three in or near Gonarezhou. Anything less is a long drive for a short look.
