South Vancouver Island is Victoria plus the coast and valley around it. Most of it works as day-trips from one bed: the capital on foot, Sidney and the ferries 30 minutes north, the rain-forest coast west, the Cowichan Valley north. Without a car you can still do Victoria, Sidney and the ferry terminals on BC Transit; Sooke, Port Renfrew, Duncan and Chemainus need wheels or a tour.
