About these names
The centre is a strip about 5 km long along the Miljacka. The old Ottoman town (Baščaršija) is at the east end, the Austro-Hungarian streets (Ferhadija, Marijin Dvor) run to the west, and the tram line ties the two together. Steep residential hills (Bistrik, Vratnik, Kovači) rise to the north and south; Ilidža and Vrelo Bosne are at the far west end of the tram.
