Go for one day, not a base: a riverside village of 1,659 people, 61 km from Montréal, with a ferry, a heritage walk and a June–July folk festival.
Saint-Antoine-sur-Richelieu is a small riverside municipality in La Vallée-du-Richelieu, on the west bank of the Richelieu River, facing Saint-Denis-sur-Richelieu. It is a half-day or one-day stop: a heritage circuit of 42 sites, a cable ferry across the river, two signed bike loops, farm kiosks and a traditional-music festival in late June and early July. There is almost no hotel stock, so most visitors sleep in Beloeil, Chambly or Saint-Marc-sur-Richelieu and drive in.
