The honest verdict
Rio's sights are spread between mountains and bays, so distance is not the trouble: cloud on the peaks, queues at the lifts, and phone theft on crowded beaches and buses are. Five walking clusters cover a first visit; the two trips that decide the plan are Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf, and both need a clear-sky morning. Keep one bed in Copacabana or Ipanema and go out from it by app car.
