Venice is a Los Angeles district, not a city: a 3 km beach strip with a boardwalk, a surviving canal grid, and Abbot Kinney Boulevard. Most travellers see it in a half-day and sleep in Santa Monica or Marina del Rey, where hotels are cheaper and quieter. Sleep here only if you want the boardwalk at sunrise and at night.
