One night is enough: the 1810 stone mill, a village walk and the lakes. Two nights only if you camp or catch the April maple festival.
Delta is a village of a few hundred people in Rideau Lakes township, eastern Ontario, about 70 km from Kingston and 130 km from Ottawa. It is a half-day stop built around the Old Stone Mill National Historic Site, a restored 1810 water-powered mill, plus two lakes and a campground. There is no public transport, so you need a car. Most travellers see it as a detour on the Kingston–Brockville corridor, not a base.

Getting around
No public transport in the Delta area. You need a car; rentals are in Kingston and Ottawa. The Cataraqui Trail crosses the region for cycling, but parts run along the highway shoulder. Village sights are walkable once parked.

- The mill is open only from the Victoria Day weekend in May to Labour Day in September, plus special event days: check before driving out.
- Fuel, food and opening hours are limited in the village; fill up and eat in Kingston, Brockville or Westport.
