Calvià is a municipality west of Palma whose coast — Santa Ponsa, Peguera, El Toro — holds the resorts, while Calvià town inland is a small administrative village with hiking trails. Most visitors come for package beach weeks, cheap flights into Palma and a bus ride of 30–50 minutes from the airport. Pick your resort by noise tolerance: Peguera is the quieter beachfront village, Santa Ponsa the busier one with more bars.

Getting around
TIB buses link Palma with Peguera (102), Santa Ponsa (103, 106), Calvià town via Santa Ponsa (107) and Port d'Andratx via both resorts (122). Bus 103 runs along the coast between Peguera and Santa Ponsa every 25 min Monday–Saturday and every 40 min on Sunday. A car helps for coves, Andratx and the Tramuntana; parking near the beaches fills by mid-morning in summer.

Watch out
Safety
- Fiestas de Verano in late July (Peguera) mean loud music until dawn — book elsewhere or accept it.
- Between Santa Ponsa and Peguera the coast is stony with poor access; don't plan to walk the whole shoreline.
- Package hotels on the west edge of Peguera sit 15 min uphill from the beach.
- Summer traffic on the Ma-1 and Ma-20 can add to the airport transfer; allow a buffer for flights.
