Crieff is a small Victorian resort town on the edge of the Highlands, 50 minutes by bus from Perth. The main draw is Drummond Castle Gardens, open June to October, plus Glenturret Distillery and low-level walks along the River Earn. It works as a quiet one-night stop between Perth and the west Highlands, not as a base for a week.

The town centre is walkable: distillery, shops and bars are within 15 minutes on foot. Drummond Castle Gardens (2 miles south) and Glen Turret need a car or taxi. Buses run from the High Street stop by the newsagent; Stagecoach 15 to Perth takes about 50 min, hourly Mon–Sat.
