Go for one night, or as a Vechtdal bike base: the centre is 30 min on foot from the station and worth half a day, not a full trip.
Ommen is a small Vechtdal town on the river Vecht in Overijssel, first mentioned in 1133 and granted city rights in 1248. The compact centre holds two small museums and a market square; the real reason to come is the river landscape around it, which you see by rented bike. Most travellers pass through in half a day or sleep one night on a Zwolle–Emmen rail stop.
