Paranas
Skip Paranas unless you have a car and want a quiet river ride or waterfall stop between Catbalogan and Calbayog: half a day is enough.
Paranas is a small Samar town with a few natural attractions — the Ulot Watershed Ecotourism Loop (a river ride), Nasarang Falls and Kinabut-an Spring — but no standout sights or services. Most travellers pass through on the highway between Catbalogan and Calbayog. Without your own transport, getting around is difficult and the town offers little to justify a detour.
