Magaluf is a purpose-built resort strip on Mallorca's southwest coast, about 30 km from Palma airport and 45 minutes by bus from Palma. It is a beach plus nightlife destination: a 500 m sandy bay, waterparks and cabaret, and one of Europe's biggest clubs. Most visitors come on packages for 3–7 nights in summer; two or three nights is enough to see it, and families should stay in Palmanova or Portals Nous instead.

Getting around

The resort is walkable: beach to strip is 5–15 min on foot. TIB buses run along the main boulevards (no town bus station) — single ticket about €3; bus 104 to Palma takes about 45 min and runs every 15 min daily. Taxis are metered; short hops within the resort are usually under €10.

Safety

The streets are busy and generally safe at night, but the real risks are drink-spiking, pickpocketing and alcohol-related fights on the bar strip — watch your drink, keep cash and phone zipped, and avoid unlit side streets after 03:00.
