- Kuwait ↗In Ramadan, eating, drinking or smoking in public during daylight is prohibited for everyone; hotels and some restaurants serve behind screens.

Who it suits, the trade-offs and when to go
Overview
The city in one paragraph, who it fits, and how many days it takes.
Kuwait City's sights are close together on the map but sit on car roads with few crossings, and the weather decides the day. The trips that go wrong walk in July, arrive with a visa still pending, or assume alcohol is served anywhere. Four small clusters cover a first visit: the souq, the mosque quarter, the museum strip on the Gulf Road and the Al Hamra tower area.
Fits
- Short winter city stops
- Museum and souq days
- Travellers who plan around the heat
Does not fit

- Don't confuse
- Kuwait City is the old centre (Qibla, Sharq); Salmiya, Hawalli and the Avenues are separate districts with their own malls.
Hover, tap or tab to an area to see what it is like. Pins are sleep areas; arrows at the edge point to the airport.
Off the map: Kuwait International Airport (KWI) (30–50 min by the usual route).
Where’s what, as a list:
- Mubarakiya Souq & Safat Square: Evening cluster: souq lanes, grills and tea after 17:00; morning for the old shops before they get hot; bags forbidden in the lanes.
- Grand Mosque & Seif Palace: Morning-only cluster: the Grand Mosque at its visiting hour, Seif Palace exterior next door; open squares with little shade.
- National Museum & Sadu House: Midday-safe cluster: the National Museum and Sadu House are indoors; go at opening or in the afternoon and use the museum as the heat shelter.
- Al Hamra Tower & Shuhada Street: Late-afternoon cluster: malls and cafés on Shuhada Street, the tower's lobby and shops in AC; a car cluster, not a walking one.
- Sleep area City centre (Qibla): suits Families, older travellers, price band $$.
- Sleep area Sharq and Al Hamra: suits Families, older travellers, price band $$$.
- Kuwait International Airport (KWI), 30–50 min by the usual route.
